Read a brief introduction on Clay Hayes website and felt compelled to buy this great book. It's wonderfully written with traditional equipment hunting stories, both successful and some not. Great descriptions on recovering lost game. I like the fact that the author is a conservation biologist and you get an insight into the importance of hunting for ecological reasons. There's a lot to hunting when we slow down and enjoy the entirety of the wilds. It's a wonderful book from a true trad hunter and his years in the field all over the globe. Really enjoyed a chapter written about his hunting experience with his aging father. And hats off to anyone hunting Africa with a recurve when you're a long way down the the food chain!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A book for the newbie or experienced bowhunter., April 13, 2017
By Mike McDonald
As a long time traditional bowhunter, I found this book to be very informative. There is more than enough info to get you started in traditional bow hunting but plenty for those who are experienced. I particularly enjoyed the chapters on woodsmanship. We all need to stop and smell the roses. There's more to the hunt than the game we seek. Ron helps us look at the total experience. Thanks for a truely informative and entertaining book.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for Both New and Experienced Traditional Bowhunters!, April 13, 2017

I've been hunting with a longbow for several year now, and I had to learn a lot through trail and a lot of error.
A Traditional Bowhunter's Path is a great read. I've learned a lot from it, and hopefully that means more trial and less error in the future! Highly recommended.

I bought this book after listening to Ron on the MeatEater podcast in which he inspired me to get into traditional archery. The book does a great job at explaining basic and more advanced aspects of traditional archery. Without going too far into one specific subject. Very well written, great pictures and excellent advice on hunting tactics, gear etc. Very happy. Will read it many more times.

Fill your trad spirit with info for all archers. Whether you're new or experienced with traditional gear there are many points you can never hear enough times.
Enjoyed the hunting lessons/tails shared and Ron's commitment to conservation.
