With Practice it becomes an excellent call

I just picked these up from a store the other day. My brother and I broke them out tonight and stood out in the driveway to practice. At first we just woke up every dog in the county, but once i got the hang of the double howler and howled, we started to get coyotes to respond.
The sonic dome was difficult at first, but then I watched the DVD to learn more about it and I'm starting to get the hang of it. Within 20 minutes I was doing moderately well with it as well. It's really great for yips and extremely high pitched calls.
I use diaphragm calls for turkey, and what I've found is that there will always be a learning curve when using calls like this. However once you practice and get used to them it really pays off.

This is by far my favorite call! As you read the reviews most complaints are dealing with the fact that you need to practice... If you want to be good at anything you have to practice. I use this call all day long, that way im always in practice.... I have used these calls on several different occasions out and about, every, and i mean every time i have used these calls, i have gotten response calls and had packs move in on me. The trick i use is to give a quick succession of yips, maybe four or five, then give out a nice long LOW pitched howl, by not depressing the latex as hard as normal, this way the pack is interested as opposed to threatened and thusly more likely to investigate. I hope this helps.

Probably work good for a guy with no gagg reflex. I couldn't get past that little feature.

... get it to work the sound quality is really good, far better than the Primos Hotdog

When you can get it to work the sound quality is really good, far better than the Primos Hotdog. However this call is inconsistent. Sometimes I blow and no sound at all. Then it says on the instructions you may have to trim to use but when I tried just trimming off the smallest amount it made the call useless.
It comes with an instructional mini-dvd which is useless for me. It wont play on my computers and can't put a mini-dvd in my Playstation. They need to dish out a few extra pennies and send out a real dvd that works in all units instead of a mini-dvd that they say "works in most dvd players".
